iPhone Pricing for Malaysia

We have been tracking prices on eBay and other competitors :-) As of this moment, the global pricing trend for SIM unlocked iPhones are:

eBay US
Lowest Buy It Now: USD 850 (4GB) and USD 1,000 (8GB) plus S&H
Highest Buy It Now: USD 1,150 (4GB) and USD 1,250 (8GB) plus S&H

Direct Online Resellers
Ex Singapore: USD 1,050 inclusive of S&H.
Note: Model not stated, probably 4GB.

S&H charges to Asia ranges starts at USD25 for US Postal Service, non tracked, non insured 2 weeks delivery. I have seen sellers quoting USD 125 for FedEx fully tracked fully tracked and insured, 2 days delivery.

Add on import duty of 10%, the lowest price you need to pay if you buy from any of these sources are USD 960 (RM 3,360) for the 4GB and USD 1,130 (RM 3,900) for the 8GB iPhones. Oh! At these prices, you need to wait about 2-3 weeks before you can touch the phone.

Although the phone is everything it is touted to be. See Kenny Sia's post on this!:-) After a few days playing with ours, we understand! But, that's still a lot of money to pay for a phone.

After some rigorous number crunching we think we can do better than that. We shall be offering for sale unlocked iPhones in Malaysia at RM2,998 (4GB) and RM3,688 (8GB) for single unit orders. If you collaborate with some friends and place order for multi units in a single transaction you will enjoy a rebate of between 5-15%.
